Tech Week Grand Rapids

WMU Grand Rapids is delighted to collaborate with The Right Place to host a speaker series on Artificial Intelligence as a part of , a participant-driven 鈥渦nconference鈥 of events, discussions, demos, and showcases that are led by those who live and work in our community. As the proud organizer of Tech Week Grand Rapids, The Right Place works alongside other community leaders to discover ways to establish Greater Grand Rapids as a leading destination for technology and innovation. WMU's four panel discussions feature WMU faculty and colleagues who will present their recent work around AI; all events will be hosted in the AMP Lab @ WMU at 200 Ionia Ave SW, Grand Rapids.  

Art Prize

WMU Grand Rapids is delighted to serve as an official venue for the highly-anticipated . From September 13 to 28, we鈥檒l proudly showcase the creations of WMU鈥檚 faculty artists and fine arts students in the AMP Lab @ WMU, including five 鈥渘ew media鈥 entries made by our Kinetic Imaging students as well as a live, one-time collaborative performance piece featuring College of Fine Arts instructors Kevin Abbott, Jacklyn Brickman, and Kelsey Paschich. We hope to see you during Art Prize as we celebrate the creativity of our fellow Broncos.

From revolutionizing speech recognition for inclusivity to shaping the future of user prompting and facilitating teamwork, join three WMU expert researchers as they discuss AI's real-world applications and societal impacts, as well as AI's potential to reshape our daily lives and professional landscapes. 

Collaborative Creation: Humans and AI in the Creative Process 

Friday, September 20 at 4:30 p.m.

This panel discussion explores the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence. Attendees can expect insights into how AI and digital technologies are transforming creative processes across disciplines at WMU, opening new possibilities for artistic innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. AMP Lab Family Open House

This free event, held on Saturday, April 6, was geared towards families with kids ages 5 through 12 and allowed attendees to discover, explore, and engage in a variety of STEM activities.
