The Writing Center helps writers at all levels and of all abilities determine strategies for effective communication and make academically responsible choices at any stage in the writing process and in any genre. Our hope is to empower each writer with the skills to better understand their own work and to more deeply engage with other writers' works.

Meet Alexa Nussio, Interim Director

Alexa Nussio has been named the Interim Director of WMU's Writing Center. She holds a Master's of Arts in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and has taught college writing classes on campus and at Lakeland Correctional Facility through WMU's first prison education program, Higher Education for the Justice-Involved (HEJI). With seven years of experience teaching writing and supporting writing center initiatives, Alexa looks forward to continuing to advocate for students, instill autonomy and confidence within the writing process, and build essential critical thinking skills through the rhetorical situation framework.

Meet Chris Colegrove, Assistant Director

Chris is the current Assistant Director of the WMU Writing Center and has served this program for three years. He is currently earning his PhD in fiction. He received his MA in Literature & Language in 2024 and his BA in English: Creative Writing in 2023 六合彩开奖数据, both from WMU. With experience as an online English tutor, Chris is excited to work with students from all backgrounds to help achieve their personal, academic, or professional writing goals.

Hours:

Monday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunday: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Drop-in hours at Waldo Library, first floor)

All in-person weekday appointments are in 1343 Ellsworth Hall.

All virtual appointments are through Microsoft Teams.

Sunday drop-in hours are in Waldo library, first floor (fall and spring semesters only).
